ST. PATRICK'S DAY SESSION WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

Pin It   Bookmark and Share

Join us in celebrating St. Patrick's Day at 12 noon with a host of local Traditional Musicians who from 2.00 PM will be joined by special guests; Andrea Beaton (Fiddle), Nuala Kennedy (Flute), Gerry O’Connor (Fiddle) & Martin Quinn (Accordion).

Gerry, Martin & Nuala are all members of the Band 'Oirealla' who’s music concentrates on the region of South Ulster, they are joined here by renowned Cape Breton Fiddler Andrea Beaton performing a mixture of Irish, Scottish and Cape Breton tunes.

All welcome! Get here early to guarantee yourself a good seat!

Singer and Flute player Nuala Kennedy from Dundalk performs a range of material from across the Irish and Scottish Traditional Music repertoires. She also composes her own idiosyncratic brand of traditional music and tours in a variety of lineups from duo and quartet to a nine-piece festival band.

Gerry O’Connor from Dundalk has long been regarded for his highly accomplished style of Fiddle playing, his work with the bands Lá Lugh and Skylark has played a significant role in bringing the music of south Ulster to the fore.

From a long lineage of singers and raconteurs of traditional songs and stories from the Mullaghbane area of south Armagh comes Accordionist Martin Quinn. Martin has toured & performed with Lá Lugh, Dorsa and is also a highly sought after Accordion repairer & tuner.

One of Cape Breton's most promising young Fiddlers, Andrea Beaton comes by her music honestly. Listen to her play, the power of her bow, the drive and swing of her timing, the crispness of her attack. She's making a name for herself in dance halls, concerts, ceilidhs, festivals & wherever good music is to be found.
